Venetian Plaster is a finishing technique using thin layers of plaster applied with a spatula or trowel and then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture. You can control the sheen level of the finish by simply sanding and burnishing until the desired sheen is obtained. The more you burnish, the more translucent the finish becomes, re-creating the
translucency found in real marble. The finish becomes so smooth it even feels like real marble. By varying the color, application technique and the amount of burnishing, other finishes can be created including stone, worn leather and suede.
